Project Giant Robot is Coming West During the First Half of 2015

It seems like Nintendo is readying up some of legendary creator Shigeru Miyamoto’s goofy side-projects for global consumption. This time, we’ve gotten word of the eccentric Project Giant Robot coming to the west on Wii U.

The news of the game’s western localization come via one of Nintend’s annual investor reports, which lists the game for a release in both North America and Europe sometime in the first half of this year.

Featured above, you can view some gameplay for the game (courtesy of Dengeki Playstation) from last year’s E3 expo. The game tasks players with creating a gigantic, skyscraper-sized mecha via the Wii U’s gamepad.

From there, the gamepad is essentially your cockpit, from which players control the robot and use the gyrometer to move their field of vision. Players can use unique combinations of buttons and physical motions to give their punches momentum and leverage. (Just like one might do in a mecha anime, right?)

We’ll keep you guys posted.
