Gameplay and Screens for Infinite Stratos: Versus Colors, Launching on New Year’s Eve

This one flew under the radar.

Publisher/developer 5pb is at Comiket, also known as Comic Market, the doujinshi fair that’s held twice yearly in Tokyo. Their booth showed off a gameplay video for Infinite Stratos: Versus Colors, their soon-to-be-released action fighting game, and developer YNP Project was kind enough to upload it online. You can watch it above.

Versus Colors is a casual fighting game, in which players duel one-on-one with their flight-capable mecha. The game will also allow for players to duel each other online. The cast consists of all six main characters and their mecha from the anime:

  • Ichika Omura (voiced by Kouki Uchiyama) and his IS mecha Byakushiki;
  • Houki Shinonono (Yōko Hikasa) and her mecha Akatsubaki;
  • Cecilia Alcot (Yukana) and her mecha Blue Tears;
  • Lingyin Huang (Asami Shimoda) and her mecha Shenlong;
  • Charlotte Dunois (Kana Hanazawa) and her mecha Rafale Revive Custom II; and
  • Laura Bodewig (Marina Inoue) and her IS mecha Schwarzer Roegen.

Infinite Stratos: Versus Colors will launch for PC in Japan on December 31 for 3,500 yen. Those at Comiket 87 can grab it earlier, for 4,000 yen; the special price is because of the special packaging, which has a clear back, as shown above.

As a little extra, Famitsu mentioned that 5pb’s booth also contained a new image for Infinite Stratos 2: Love and Purge. Nothing is known about Love and Purge, yet, not even the genre or platform of the game. However, it is notable that the image at the booth, featured below (click to enlarge), contains the Sarashiki sisters, Tatenashi and Kanzashi, who are absent from Versus Colors.
