So among all of the recent news surrounding Senran Kagura, a new preview (via Famitsu) for Senran Kagura: Estival Versus featuring all five of the new characters has surfaced, including the shotgun-doting Ryoki.
So, without further ado, let’s look at these new characters!
First up we have Hanabi, the straight-shooting Mikagura middle child. Her energetic but simple personality means she thinks and acts in a straightforward manner, with no hint of subtlety. In addition to her simplicity, she’s not the brightest bulb out there. However, despite that, she is rather self-aware, and does indeed feel bad for any wrongdoings. Her weapons are bombs and a hammer: she’s very well informed when it comes to gunpowder.

Next we have Kafuru, the conniving and calculating youngest of the Mikagura sisters. Her selfishness, paired with her calculating personality, make for one mean girl who constantly speaks down to others. She’s partial to mockery, often cutting enemies down to size with words before any fight begins. But she knows better than to talk down to her sisters, and avoids doing so, except for the occasional teasing of Hanabi.

Renka is the eldest of the sisters, and has the spirit of a city girl. She is strong-minded, and is quick to voice her dislike of anything cutesy or girly. If there’s commotion nearby, you can bet Renka will jump in and make it worse. She also has the makings of a great leader, able to laugh off even the most dire of situations, and make her way through.

Ryoki, the eldest sister of Ryona and Ryobi, is actually dead, having been killed in a battle against the youma, but was revived to take part in the Kagura Thousand-Year Festival. She used a shotgun and shield in life, but has now added her coffin to her arsenal. Since being temporarily revived, she has grown to greatly enjoy hearing Buddhist sutras being recited.

The last character detailed is Sayuri, Hanzou’s wife and Asuka’s grandmother. She is incredibly dangerous—enough so to beat Hanzou into place—but has a massive weakness for her granddaughter. Sayuri has been travelling around the country with the Mikagura sisters, working as a priestess for the Festival. She’s also known to be the cause behind the constant bickering of Hanzou and Kurokage, which started years ago.
