No Man’s Sky Really is the Sci-fi Adventure of My Childhood

No Man’s Sky is one of those games that is instantly recognizable due to its sheer breathtaking sense of scale, and the downright impossible looking mechanics and seamless world transition the game sports.

Featured above, we’ve gotten a developer interview with Sean Murray of Hello Games, the small U.K. developer that is building this absolutely mind-boggling game. The interesting thing is Murray describing the game as a childhood adventure of sorts:

“I think I heard somebody saying it’s like a pitch from a child, basically. There will be a universe and you can go anywhere and there’s a ship and you can shoot lasers and all that kind of things. It’s like the most childish idea for a game in the world. And it was really fueled by sci-fi as I’d always experienced it, which was books, books that I’d grown up with, like actual science fiction.”

No Man’s Sky is currently only confirmed for PlayStation 4.
